A place to start
Apply the four management functions to one decision
MGMT100 introduces planning, organising, leading and controlling. Rather than memorising four definitions in isolation, use one realistic situation to show what each function contributes.
Practice prompt: a student club is running a one-day market stall. What would the organiser do before the event, while assigning volunteers, during the day and afterwards?
- Set a goal and a simple plan for the stall.
- Identify who needs to do what and how you would support them on the day.
- Choose a measure that tells you whether the plan worked and what to adjust.
Check your reasoning
Planning sets the stall’s goal, budget and timetable. Organising assigns supplies and volunteer shifts. Leading means helping the team adapt when a queue forms or someone is absent. Controlling compares results, such as sales or leftover stock, with the goal so the club can improve its next event.
An original practice prompt, not a UC assessment question. Topics checked against the UC course description.
How it works
- 1
Send a request
Pick the course and roughly how long you might need (20 minutes or more). In-person requests are temporarily paused.
- 2
Get matched
Your request goes to tutors who got an A-, A or A+ in this exact course. The first to claim it is yours.
- 3
Get unstuck
Meet on video with a shared whiteboard. End whenever you are done.
A course opens for requests as soon as it has enough verified tutors. Lighthouse is for practice and understanding, never for completing assessed work.
Free to join. $30 covers the first 20 minutes of a lesson.
